New Coloured Manga: Uchihas
May 17, 2008 at 8:04 pm | In Coloured Manga, Photoshop | No CommentsColoured this one pretty fast. There was nothing much to do today (I didn’t go out today, so couldn’t buy the game…) and coincidentally, the cover page of this week’s Naruto was rather nice to colour. In addition to that, there was already a lineart available. So might as well colour it.
Lineart by Shade. Much thanks to him.
Here’s my colouration, featuring; Itachi, Sasuke and Madara Uchiha (otherwise known as Tobi).
I prefer version one to version two. I wanted to give version two a blue-ish hue, but it didn’t turn out as nice as I pictured it. Still looks okay though.
I hope Kishimoto will move on to the next part of the story already. The recent chapters about Sasuke, Itachi and Uchiha stuff are all so boring….
Hmm….nothing much to say….
Added these to the Gallery.
Dilemma
May 17, 2008 at 11:37 am | In Life In General | No CommentsTo buy or not to buy. That is the question.
It’s been a long time since I last bought a game, so I was thinking of buying one soon. Soon - as in, possibly today, or in the next one or two weeks.
The game I have in mind is “The World Ends With You” by Square Enix, the creators of Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts. It looks very promising and the ratings are quite high. Reviews agree that it’s a very nice game. So why the hesitation?
You see, Malay ‘O’ Levels is just a week away, and I do not want to get distracted by the game. Even though it’s Malay, ‘O’ Levels is ‘O’ Levels. Can’t afford to get a low grade. However, this is only if I get the game today because I may be going out later.
Another problem - is homework. I have a couple of Malay homework that needs to be done. I still have tomorrow and Monday to finish them but if I were to get the game today, or maybe tomorrow, I may get distracted and not be able to finish them. This only applies if I get the game today though, and it’s not as serious as the previous.
Third problem, and possibly the main reason why I’m hesitating, is getting distracted from my studies. My one month school holiday has literally been reduced to only a week. Blame remedials. But that’s beside the point. The point is that I need to concentrate during lessons, else my results will not be great. If I were to get the game, my concentration will most likely waver and….yeah. This might continue after the “holidays” and history will repeat itself (referring to my not-so-good grades).
The good thing about buying the game is that I’ll be able to get my mind off things and relax. But if I were to buy the game, when I buy it is also important. I don’t know if I should buy it this week, or wait till at least Malay ‘O’ Levels is over.
The most logical and rational choice, is of course to not buy the game at all. But I really want it you see because this is me we’re talking about. It’s already hard enough to resist the temptation of buying games for the past months. And now that I found another good game, I don’t want to let this chance slip again. It is the holidays afterall, even though there’s Malay and remedials and stuff.
Teachers keep going on and on about how our studies are really important and all, not that they’re wrong, but they need to remember that, technically, we are still young. So we need to rest and play every once in a while. But that’s just part of me talking.
Results
May 15, 2008 at 5:24 pm | In Life In General, School | No CommentsAs the title says; My MYE Results. I couldn’t think of anything else to name this post, so yeah. And I didn’t posts this yesterday because I was too tired and lazy.
Generally, I’m not too satisfied with my results. Sure, I got As and a few Bs, and to some, they may think that that is a good achievement. I think that it’s a good achievement too, but not great. Satisfactory but not something that I can be proud of.
English was okay, an improvement from previous tests. I managed to get an A for Paper 2 but Paper 1 pulled me down to a B grade. I only need 1 more mark to attain an A2 but that was not meant to be. Sad, but true. I’m happy, yet not too satisfied with the overall grade.
As for Physics, I did better than what I thought I would get. But even so, it doesn’t make me happy. Afterall, a ‘B’ isn’t something to be happy about. Enough said.
Biology came as a surprise. Honestly, I thought that I would get a B4 or C5, but as it turns out, I got an A2! Seriously, it was very unexpected. But hey, who’s complaining? However, my target for the ‘O’ Levels remains unchanged; an A1.
Malay wasn’t a surprise. Excluding Oral, if it’s purely Paper 1 and 2, I got a C5. But if it’s including Oral and Listening Comprehension, then I got a B4. Malay ‘O’ Levels is about 10 ten days away and I’m trying my best to motivate myself to study for it so that I may get an A1, but we’ll see. I hope I do get an A1 though.
Maths was the only subject that I’m happy about, both Elementary and Additional Mathematics. Even though careless mistakes were present in both, more in A Maths than E Maths (I forgot to do an entire part of a question for A Maths!! and made a really stupid and careless mistake….[2x4=6 What the hell!?!?] ), I still managed to do well. Considering the time I spent on revising for the two (30 minutes for E Maths and maybe an hour for A Maths), I think I did pretty good.
Moving on, Chemistry was okay. I did relatively well for Paper 2 but my Paper 1 was a disappointment. I got much lower than I what I thought I would get. I still got an A1 in the end, but only narrowly. I think I can do much better though.
Geography was pretty good. I managed to, once again, surprise myself for Geography. I thought I wrote rubbish, but turns out it wasn’t. Lol, interesting.
I haven’t gotten my Social Studies Paper yet, but I hope I do well for it.
Well, that’s all of it, I think.
I think that, if I’m more serious about studying, I can do much better. Hopefully, that won’t remain as wishful thinking. Having said that, I hope I can somehow be motivated to work harder because the way I am now, honestly, I don’t really care about doing something to improve myself. Haha, there’s going to be a “Motivation Workshop” at school during the June Holidays. Interesting, let’s see if it helps. I doubt it though.
New Avatars: Code Geass, Eyeshield 21, Gundam 00
May 13, 2008 at 9:07 pm | In Avatar, Code Geass, Gundam 00, Photoshop | No CommentsWell, today’s Marking Day and school’s out, so what did I do? Some people may spend the day hanging out with friends, watching movies, sleep, play games, watch anime, read manga, etc etc. As for me, as much as I’d like to watch anime and read manga, there’s really no new releases to watch. Conveniently, I had a sudden inspiration and motivation to create some avatars. So, I spent almost the entire day creating icons.
Click on the Avatars/Icons for the textless versions.
Well, that’s all for now. Who knew creating one avatar could take quite long (about 15-30 minutes for one).
Credits goes to Minitokyo for the Stock Images. Much thanks to the users there. There’s just too much to credit individually, so I hope crediting them generally will do.
I’ve created a Page for Avatars/Icons at the Gallery. Already added these there.
New Coloured Manga: Tsuna & Reborn
May 13, 2008 at 10:08 am | In Coloured Manga, Photoshop | No CommentsWell, I did say I was going to colour this page after the exams are over. I would have finished and posted it yesterday if not for the Inter-Class Floorball Competiton. Well, that doesn’t matter anymore, at least I finished it.
I won’t post all the stages like I did with my previous colouring because it’s too troublesome.
But might as well share the lineart. It took me about 3 hours to clean the page, especially the pants because it’s too black and I had to guess where the line should be. Hope it doesn’t look too off.
Katekyo Hitman Reborn! Chapter 191: Featuring Tsuna & Reborn
Two versions once again. I really don’t know which I prefer. The first one looks simple and nice but a bit too plain. The second one blends in pretty well with the background but some parts look a little too dark, even though that was kinda intentional since I wanted the light source to be from the top right-hand corner. But still, both are okay.
I debated on whether to colour Reborn’s hair black or brown because I didn’t know which would be better; his original hair colour or Tsuna’s as he is impersonating him. I ended up using his original hair colour. I had to scale down the image quite a bit because the original file size was too big. The original colouring was the size of the lineart. I spent about another 3-4 hours colouring this.
Anyway, you would have noticed that Lambo and I-Pin are missing from the coloured version. Lol, that’s because I thought that they were “in the way”. I wanted it to just be Tsuna & Reborn, Student & Tutor. Yeah well, and also because I was too lazy to add them as well.
Added this to the Gallery too.
Well, now that that’s done, time to create avatars.
MYE: Physics & Chemistry
May 12, 2008 at 4:17 pm | In Life In General, School | No CommentsHmm…nothing much to say about these two papers. They were quite easy and manageable.
__________
Physics Paper 1:
Much much easier than Paper 2. Hopefully I’ll only lose one or two marks, or even better, none.
Chemistry Paper 1:
Quite easy but sort of troublesome too. The questions are not so straightforward and requires more thinking as compared to Physics. But still, it wasn’t too bad. I hope I won’t lose too much marks.
__________
Well, that was fast. Anyway, that concludes the Mid-Year-Examinations. All that’s left for now are the results. But I’m gonna put aside the worries for another time. I should relax and enjoy myself now, while I still can.
So there’s no school tomorrow because of Marking Day and I have actually kind of planned what I want to do tomorrow. Basically, finish up my colouring of Reborn Chapter 191 Page 1 and when that’s done, create a couple of avatars. I haven’t made an avatar since who knows when and I have a sudden inspiration to do some now so I mustn’t waste this rare inspiration.
That aside, I just finished watching episode 6 of Code Geass R2. Guren can fly now! Haha, take that Britannia!
MYE: Biology & Additional Mathematics
May 9, 2008 at 1:02 pm | In Life In General, School | No CommentsSince I’ve already just recently revised for these two subjects, I didn’t take long to read through my notes a second time because the content is still somewhat fresh in my head. To summarise both papers; they were both okay.
__________
Biology Paper 1:
Even though it was MCQ, I still revised for it because I know I need to score for this section to make up for the losses in Paper 2. I didn’t have the time to check every single question because I only had about 10 minutes to spare after finishing the paper. I think I’ll do okay for it. There were some questions that I don’t really get but overall, it was manageable. Don’t know if it’s enough to pull my grade to an ‘A’ but maybe a ‘B’?
Additional Mathematics Paper 1:
I have never encountered an easier A Maths Paper before. I only had trouble with one question and that was a trigonometry proving question. I skipped that particular question first and completed the rest of the paper by 1 and a half hours. I spent the rest half an hour to prove that particular trigonometry expression. Luckily for me, I managed to do it. So I think I’ll be able to do well for A Maths, even after taking careless mistakes into consideration.
__________
Well, only two more papers to go and the Mid-Year-Examinations will finally come to an end after about 1 and a half weeks. In the meantime, I’ll need to revise for Chemistry and Physics Paper 1. But I think I’ll do that over the weekend.
MYE: Mathematics & Chemistry
May 8, 2008 at 9:10 pm | In Life In General, School | 1 CommentWell, it’s a little late today because I couldn’t connect to my ISP in the afternoon. But it’s fine now, so that’s what matters. Anyway, to generalise the two papers today; they were both okay - not too easy yet not too difficult.
__________
Elementary Mathematics Paper 1:
I was so bored when I was doing this paper. It was really very simple. If not for the last few questions, I think I would have fallen asleep. Nevertheless, I managed to complete everything. I think I can do well for E Maths, even with the careless mistakes and all, but hopefully no careless mistakes….?
Chemistry Paper 2:
Compared to the other two Sciences, Physics and Biology, Chemistry was relatively easy. The questions were a bit on the weird side but they were still manageable. I don’t know if I can do very well for it, but I think well enough for an ‘A’, though I don’t mind getting a higher mark.
__________
Okay then, time to resume my revision for tomorrow’s papers; Biology Paper 1 and Additional Mathematics Paper 1.
MYE: Malay & Additional Mathematics
May 7, 2008 at 2:31 pm | In Life In General, School | No CommentsUmm…nothing much to say about the revision for these two subjects because there weren’t really much to study. With regards to the paper itself, to generalise both papers; they were okay - not too difficult but not too easy either.
__________
Malay Paper 2:
I can’t really say much about this because I don’t know if I really know the answers. It’s hard for me to say which questions I’m unable to do because I did all of them except that I don’t know whether they’re right or wrong. Although there were some questions that I know I definitely don’t know. (Confused?)
Additional Mathematics Paper 2:
It was easier than I thought it would be. I honestly expected it to be more difficult but hey, I’m not complaining. I mostly did all of the questions except that I wasn’t able to finish two or three and these questions were worth quite a lot of marks. And knowing myself, I think it’s safe to assume that careless mistakes were present, especially since I didn’t have the time to check my answers. Hopefully, none were present though because I need those marks badly to make up for the loss of marks in other subjects. So all in all, I think I should be able to get an ‘A’, if there weren’t too much careless mistakes.
__________
Well, glad Malay’s over and done with. I still have A Maths Paper 1 on Friday but before then, I need to revise for tomorrow’s papers, which are Elementary Mathematics (Again - I hope it’ll be quite easy too) and Chemistry Paper 2 (Hope I can do well for this).
MYE: Mathematics & Biology
May 6, 2008 at 2:58 pm | In Life In General, School | No CommentsStudying for Biology was tedious. There were a lot of things to memorise and just too little time (but maybe that’s just because I started late) and just too little memory space (in the brain). In the end, I didn’t manage to completely revise for every chapter. Maths is a different story though; there is little, if any, to study for, in my opinion. With the formula sheet, memory work is almost zero. All we need to understand are concepts and the rest is up to how we apply the formulas.
To have Maths and Bio on the same day is a blessing, I must say. I can concentrate on Bio without having to worry much about Maths. So anyways, to summarise the two papers….is quite impossible because they’re both completely different.
__________
Elementary Mathematics Paper 2:
Quite easy, in my opinion. A few challenging problems here and there but other than that, it was relatively easy. The challenging problems were refreshing, otherwise it would have been a boring 2 hours and 30 minutes. I managed to complete the whole paper with about 10-15 minutes left to spare. I checked what I could, so it wasn’t thorough. Knowing myself, I would have probably made several careless mistakes here and there.
Biology Paper 2:
If Physics was tough, Biology was arduous. I think I wrote gibberish for almost every single question. I find the questions very demanding - as in, it requires a lot of thinking and connecting various Chapters together….or maybe it just requires common sense…? Well, either way, I wasn’t able to do them. To make matters worse, I haven’t really revised certain chapters and those certain chapters were the ones that came out! The chapters that I revised on were barely tested!
I wouldn’t be surprised if I fail Biology but maybe there’s still hope if I do well for Paper 1. Luckily, the essay questions were manageable, with the exception of one. So maybe, it’ll help pull up my marks.
__________
Now that that’s over and done with, time to study for the next papers. (Hopefully, I won’t fall asleep again - I wasted 3 hours sleeping yesterday…) Tomorrow’s papers are Malay Paper 2 (Ah crap. Have hope?) and Additional Mathematics Paper 2 (Can’t be too bad, right? - I guess I better go refresh my memory and maybe do some practice).
