A Blogspot??

I created a blog over at blogspot about a week ago. And back then, I thought of that blog as just another side-blog, like my LiveJournal, but now, I’m thinking of making it my ‘official’ blog. Not really sure why though. Probably another one of my whimsical decisions. But I guess the ability to freely change and customise the template to whatever I want may have had something to do with it.

Yes, I know I posted about how I like WordPress better than blogspot about a year ago. And yeah, I know that makes me a hypocrite. So sue me. I detest myself. Whatever.

So I guess I won’t be using this blog anymore…?
Hmm~ Maybe I’ll still post my latest photoshop-related stuff……??

Although somewhere along my life I may suddenly use this blog again. I’ll never know.

Anyway, I still plan on using LiveJournal though. Because miscellaneous, trivial, random stuffs (or spam if you wanna call it that) need to go somewhere.

So yeah.

Fractured-Time ~Pieces of My Life~

Intuos4

God this looks so AWESOME!

I just found out it was just recently released and will be available in stores in Singapore soon.

New features include a customizable Touch Ring. This makes photoshop work much more convenient as it can be used to change brush size, zoom, opacity, canvas rotation and stuff like that. The Touch Strip of Intuos3 can be customized to only change one thing but since Intuos4 has a toggle button, it can used to change multiple stuffs. Cool.

Intuos4 also has OLED Displays next to their ExpressKey. That way, we won’t forget what we set the ExpressKeys as.

Compared to Intuos3, Intuos 4 also has twice the Pen Pressure Levels and a better Tip Sensor. Also, opening our favorite web browser and email client, or accessing our most often used commands can all be done quickly and simply with the Intuos4 Radial Menus.

Of course, there’s a bunch of other features as well, but I’m not gonna bother posting it all here because I didn’t really read through all of it.

I just bought my Intuos3 last November so chances of me actually buying an Intuos4 are zero. Sad, but true. Money isn’t the only issue. Well, actually, it is. Because if I’m loaded with cash, I would so buy this without a second thought.

But if I think about it, the features of the intuos4 isn’t really that much different from intuos3. I mean, I don’t really care about the pressure sensitivity all that much because I’m fine with the sensitivity of my intuos3. The Touch Ring of i4 would be nice, but the Touch Strip of i3 does it job too and the Radial Menu of i4 isn’t really important to me. The OLED display of i4 is cool but that too isn’t necessary.

I think the reason that really compels me to buy the intuos4 is the design. Seriously.
It looks so damn cool! Stylish! Professional! God it really looks so awesome!

Meh~ Whatever. I guess it’s not really that important. (But God I so want it…) I don’t use the tablet that often anyway. Only if I have the inspiration to do so. And that comes and goes. If I’m a frequent user, then maybe I would think of buying the new intuos. But I’m not. So yeah. Besides, I’m not a professional anyway. I just do it as a ‘for fun’ thing, like a hobby. So it’s not worth buying a new tablet.

What’s Next?

I think I’ve mentioned this before but I’ll say it again anyway, for boredom’s sake. After the “O” Levels ended a few months ago, I kinda ’stopped’ watching anime for some reason. It was around that time that I started watching Lost and I then gradually picked up other TV Shows.

All those time, the only anime series that I was up-to-date with were Gundam 00 S2, To Aru Majutsu no Index, Soul Eater and Naruto Shippuuden.

To Aru Majutsu no Index ended last week. Gundam 00 S2 ended on Monday. (Technically, it ended on Sunday, but I watched the finale on Monday. So yeah.) And I just finished watching the last episode of Soul Eater just now.

All I’m left with now is Naruto Shippuuden. Which will not end for a very long time.

So what’s next? I don’t think only watching Naruto will be enough for my entertainment. TV Shows are entertaining, but they’re ‘realistic’, as in, no jumping across unbelievably long distances, no standing up after losing a lot of blood, no lasers, no explosions, no interesting fight scences, well you get the point. With the exception of Heroes of course. That’s why I like the show so much. Sure the plot may not be as great as it was before, but just the concept of people with abilities is interesting enough for me to keep watching it. Anyway, that’s why I still watch some anime. I need the fantasy. Because it’s not boring.

So yeah.

To Aru Kagaku no Railgun, the side-story to To Aru Majutsu no Index, has been green-lit for production, but I don’t know when it’ll be out. So I guess I’m just gonna have to wait for that one. In the meantime, I guess I’ll be watching the second Fullmetal Alchemist anime that’ll be replacing Gundam 00’s timeslot.

I was also thinking of re-watching the first season of Gundam 00 or maybe Kuroshitsuji. We’ll see how it goes. So then, I guess that makes it 4 anime series again, excluding To Aru Kagaku no Railgun.

SP Scholars Programme ~Yes or No?~

Just got this letter from Singapore Polytechnic saying that my GCE “O” Level Results and CCA Achievement (lolwhut?) qualifies me for the SP Scholars Programme.

Sounds pretty prestigious. And yes, I’m considering to apply for this programme. And yes, at the same time, I’m kind of hesistant to do so. So yeah, I am, once again, in a dilemma.

Anyway, this programme is all about developing and maximising intellectual and leadership potential. SP Scholars undergo special training in leadership, communication & interview skills, current affairs, and undertake overseas community service projects.

I’m thinking of applying for this for several reasons. One of which is because I think I should be more active and try to do things I don’t usually do and make the most of my time instead of just, you know, sitting in front of the computer.  It may also be a good opportunity for me to change. The more practical reason for applying is of course because it will make me look good when I want to apply for University.

On the other hand, I’m also reluctant. I don’t know if I want to change. I mean, I kinda like being an introvert and my indifferent and apathetic personality. And I don’t know if I would fit in with the rest of the people. Surely, these people are the kind who enjoys being with other people. Or is that just an assumption? And there’s also that laziness of mine. Always a problem.

I’ve never considered myself of having good leadership qualities. I just couldn’t care less about those kind of things. That’s part of the reason why I’m hesitant. The programme might not be suited for me. But it could also be an opportunity to groom my leadership qualities. That’s part of the reason why I want to apply. I mean, if I want to be somebody, I need to stand out right? And just being good academically isn’t enough.

When I decided to go to Poly instead of JC, I decided that I would perhaps be more active in my CCA or something. Pragmatically because it’ll make me look good when I apply for University. Is this programme the ‘answer’ or something?

Anyway, I need to decide by 31st of March.

*Sigh* Well, at least I know what would be my topic of internal discussion to make me go to sleep tonight.

Of Going Out & Anime/Manga

My legs and feet are tired and sore. I just got back home from Expo and Jurong Point.

There was a Popular Sale going on at the Expo and my youngest sis wants to go. Since its been quite a long time since I last went out and I have nothing better to do than sit in front of my computer watching Shows, I thought I might as well go out too. The journey there was pretty uneventful. Went out of the house around 9.30 am and reached Jurong East MRT Station around 10.  Waited for about 10 minutes for the MRT and then another hour before finally reaching Expo. God, was it a long ride. And I had to stand for 90% of the trip there.

Anyway, when we arrived at the entrance, we were surprised that there was an insanely long queue stretching all the way from the entrance to somewhere we weren’t able to discern from where we were. As we walked on, we still couldn’t see what the hell these people were lining up for. My sis offhandedly commented that they were lining up for the toilet and coincidentally, we really saw the toilet at that moment. But of course that wasn’t what they were queuing for. Anyway, we passed by several exhibition halls and the queue still showed no sign of ending. Turns out, there was an Adidas Sale and all those people were lining up for that. The patience and devotion they have to line up for hours just to go to an Adidas sale, I will never understand.

When I eventually stepped into the hall of the Popular sale, I of course went straight to the Harris section. Harris has a much better selection and variety of books. And boy was there a lot of books. I’m not certain how long I spent walking around the tables of books but I’m sure it was long. There were so many books (cheap ones at that), I didn’t know which I should buy. I’m pretty sure most of them are old books though. If they weren’t, they wouldn’t be so cheap. In the end, I only bought one book. My youngest sis bought a couple of stuffs so it wasn’t a total waste of time.

Moving on, we went to Robinson’s sale but there was nothing of interest, so we left after about 10 minutes. Subsequently, we went to Halal foods or something. There was also nothing of interest there.

Then it was another long trip on the MRT. Only this time, it was slightly longer since we were going to Jurong Point. So yeah, another hour standing in the MRT and this time, I was carrying stuff. My shoulder hurts. Oh, and yeah, it was way more crowded this time. God, I hate crowds.

Anyway. Arrived at Jurong Point. Had lunch at Burger King. Went to This Fashion. Bought Nothing. Went to The Wallet Shop. Surveyed the Laptop sleeves. Too squarish and the case is somewhat thin and not soft. So decided against buying it. Went to Popular. Bought a laptop sleeve/case. End of Story.

Now with regards to anime/manga.

I actually started watching Ga-Rei Zero several months ago but after the “O”s I kinda stopped watching anime (with the exception of a few series; namely four). Then suddenly, I resumed watching Ga-Rei Zero again on Wednesday. I watched the entire last half of the series in one shot. I didn’t know what got into me but whatever. I think I kinda missed watching anime.

But I don’t think I’ll be picking up any new series anytime soon though. At least not until I finish watching Season 2 of House and Numb3rs and Season 5 of Monk. But I am thinking of rewatching a series or two. Maybe Gundam Seed/Destiny, KIBA or Blood+.

On a related note, I bought 4 volumes of manga yesterday. It’s been a really long time since I last bought a volume of manga and since I’m kinda in the mood right now, I thought I might as well buy a couple of volumes. Anyway, I was horrified when I found out that the latest volume of Pokemon Adventures was printed on a different type of paper. Well, technically, it is the type of paper manga’s are usually printed on but ChuangYi’s english manga are always printed on environmentally friendly wood-free paper (or at least that’s what they call it). And I like that paper. Why did they change it?? I hope it’s only a temporary thing and that they’re not going to publish all the mangas from now on on that low-quality-ish paper.

Oh yeah, I also bought a toilet sign to put on the door of my room. It was my sister’s idea, really.
