My legs and feet are tired and sore. I just got back home from Expo and Jurong Point.
There was a Popular Sale going on at the Expo and my youngest sis wants to go. Since its been quite a long time since I last went out and I have nothing better to do than sit in front of my computer watching Shows, I thought I might as well go out too. The journey there was pretty uneventful. Went out of the house around 9.30 am and reached Jurong East MRT Station around 10. Waited for about 10 minutes for the MRT and then another hour before finally reaching Expo. God, was it a long ride. And I had to stand for 90% of the trip there.
Anyway, when we arrived at the entrance, we were surprised that there was an insanely long queue stretching all the way from the entrance to somewhere we weren’t able to discern from where we were. As we walked on, we still couldn’t see what the hell these people were lining up for. My sis offhandedly commented that they were lining up for the toilet and coincidentally, we really saw the toilet at that moment. But of course that wasn’t what they were queuing for. Anyway, we passed by several exhibition halls and the queue still showed no sign of ending. Turns out, there was an Adidas Sale and all those people were lining up for that. The patience and devotion they have to line up for hours just to go to an Adidas sale, I will never understand.
When I eventually stepped into the hall of the Popular sale, I of course went straight to the Harris section. Harris has a much better selection and variety of books. And boy was there a lot of books. I’m not certain how long I spent walking around the tables of books but I’m sure it was long. There were so many books (cheap ones at that), I didn’t know which I should buy. I’m pretty sure most of them are old books though. If they weren’t, they wouldn’t be so cheap. In the end, I only bought one book. My youngest sis bought a couple of stuffs so it wasn’t a total waste of time.
Moving on, we went to Robinson’s sale but there was nothing of interest, so we left after about 10 minutes. Subsequently, we went to Halal foods or something. There was also nothing of interest there.
Then it was another long trip on the MRT. Only this time, it was slightly longer since we were going to Jurong Point. So yeah, another hour standing in the MRT and this time, I was carrying stuff. My shoulder hurts. Oh, and yeah, it was way more crowded this time. God, I hate crowds.
Anyway. Arrived at Jurong Point. Had lunch at Burger King. Went to This Fashion. Bought Nothing. Went to The Wallet Shop. Surveyed the Laptop sleeves. Too squarish and the case is somewhat thin and not soft. So decided against buying it. Went to Popular. Bought a laptop sleeve/case. End of Story.
Now with regards to anime/manga.
I actually started watching Ga-Rei Zero several months ago but after the “O”s I kinda stopped watching anime (with the exception of a few series; namely four). Then suddenly, I resumed watching Ga-Rei Zero again on Wednesday. I watched the entire last half of the series in one shot. I didn’t know what got into me but whatever. I think I kinda missed watching anime.
But I don’t think I’ll be picking up any new series anytime soon though. At least not until I finish watching Season 2 of House and Numb3rs and Season 5 of Monk. But I am thinking of rewatching a series or two. Maybe Gundam Seed/Destiny, KIBA or Blood+.
On a related note, I bought 4 volumes of manga yesterday. It’s been a really long time since I last bought a volume of manga and since I’m kinda in the mood right now, I thought I might as well buy a couple of volumes. Anyway, I was horrified when I found out that the latest volume of Pokemon Adventures was printed on a different type of paper. Well, technically, it is the type of paper manga’s are usually printed on but ChuangYi’s english manga are always printed on environmentally friendly wood-free paper (or at least that’s what they call it). And I like that paper. Why did they change it?? I hope it’s only a temporary thing and that they’re not going to publish all the mangas from now on on that low-quality-ish paper.
Oh yeah, I also bought a toilet sign to put on the door of my room. It was my sister’s idea, really.
