New Signature: Obito Uchiha

While I was waiting for my mother to finish checking a Malay Paper that I did, I had a sudden inspiration to create a signature. Well, I was browsing a forum and came across a signature that looks nice, so that’s where the inspiration came from.

Rendering was troublesome and so was searching for a render on the net, so I just used what renders I have.

Render taken from PlanetRenders.

Creating this was much more troublesome than I originally thought. I had quite a few problems along the way, the blending of the render with the background was especially troublesome, but I somehow managed to pull through.

Here’s the gist of the steps.
The background is mostly made up of a couple of Grunge brushes with distorted images of the render on Color Dodge on top of the brushes. Duplicates of the render on top of one another with different filters and on Overlay at different opacities and added a lighting effect. The first version was finished with a Color Balance adjustment layer. The second version also had a Color Balance adjustment layer, but underneath that layer was a white background set on Saturation.

I’m quite pleased with the overall outcome. It wasn’t really what I had in mind but it turned out pretty nicely. I’ve improved, I’d say. But that may just be luck.

Added this to the Gallery.

Well, time to study…..again.

New Signature: Lightning

Well, what do you know? It’s another signature. This time it’s Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII.

This one is really simple and plain.

To be honest, I think this signature is not nice at all. Lightning doesn’t blend in with the background one bit. I thought of changing the whole background altogether but was too lazy. I also wanted to just delete it, but thought the better of it. Might as well ‘complete’ it because I don’t really like to let things go unfinished.

Added this to the Gallery as well.

New Signature: Cloud Strife

What’s this? Another signature after only a few hours?!
Haha, I must be full of motivation today, specifically for making signatures.

This signature was done in a very short amount of time because it’s really very simple.

Two versions; one with Cloud alone and the other featuring Zack as well. I thought that there was too much free space on version one, so I inserted Zack there to cover it up. The outcome didn’t turn out that well though, that’s why I didn’t deleted version one. Overall, I’m still not too pleased with the outcome though, it looks too plain.

Hmm…let’s see if I’m up for more signatures…

Added both versions to the Gallery.

New Signature: Sora

I believe the last time I made a signature was in February. After that, my motivation of making another one seemed to have declined. Well, yesterday, all of a sudden (key word: sudden), my motivation flared, for reasons still unknown.

But reasons don’t matter. What matters is that I still haven’t forgotten how to make a signature.

There you have it, a signature featuring Sora from Kingdom Hearts II. I still think that something’s not quite right with the outcome but in general, I think it’s okay. Design’s pretty simple; just mainly used brushes and toggled around with the render here and there.

The render’s not mine this time. I took it from PlanetRenders.

I had wanted to create more signatures but maybe I’ll do it if I have some free time later or tomorrow. Lazy as I may be, I know my priorities, so I think I should start my revision now.

Added this to the Gallery too.

New Signature: Lenalee Lee

Wow, this came earlier than expected. I managed to finish this last night. It was done in a surprisingly short time.

Without further ado, here’s my latest signature; featuring Lenalee Lee from D.Gray-Man.

Honestly, this one doesn’t really look nice in my opinion. (I changed my mind. After a second thought, I guess it does look kinda nice.) As you can see, I am still not adept at placing the words in the signature. The placing seems odd, I’d say. Oh, and I didn’t use a tutorial for this, it’s my own style as you may have noticed. This signature is as simple as it looks; a C4D in the background, a basic brush for the ‘dots’ thingy, some other brush for the ‘line’ in the background, add a little outer glow on the brushes, insert Lenalee in the signature, play around with Adjustment Layers and filters and we’re done.

Hmm…I’m planning on making another signature or avatar in the near future (I hope). It’ll probably feature another character from D.Gray-Man as well. D.Gray-Man again…why? Don’t know, really. Just felt like it. Though this may change.

Added this to the Gallery as well.

Latest Signature: Kyoya Hibari

Heh, about time I did this, ne? Well, the signature that I’ve kept procratinating is finally done and it didn’t take long to boot. I did it using a tutorial as well. A pity I forgot the link to the tutorial. If I found it somewhere, I’ll be sure to put it up but in the meantime, I’m gonna have to leave it as that.

Here’s my result:

I had wanted to insert text to all of the versions but it didn’t turn out nice because there was just too many words and I didn’t want to omit any of them as it would ruin the ‘message’ that I want to bring across. Besides, I think it looks nicer without any text at all. The last one was made in an attempt to match the colour of the sig to the colour that Hibari is usually associated to; purple.

Well, in any case, I think I’m gonna display the third one on my main Signature Gallery because I prefer it better than the others. But it’s not like I’m gonna discard the rest, they’re gonna be displayed in the Tutorial Signatures page.

Tutorial Signatures -Part II-

Well, here’s part 2. =)

Tutorial: Here

I really like the outcome, enough said. =) Will definitely try this style again.

Tutorial: Here

The outcome for this is really great too. I like the style and flow of the signature. There are several versions of the sig because I don’t know which look better. Anyways, I will definitely try this style again too.

Tutorial: Direct / Forum (The second tutorial)

The outcome for this looks good too, but I screwed up here and there a bit so it doesn’t really look great as the previous two. I will most likely try this again.

All three of this sigs features characters from Naruto. Haha, didn’t notice that till I made the last of the three. =) Maybe it’s because I have quite a number of Naruto pictures compared to other series. Some of the renders I used are from here. Others are rendered by myself.

Tutorial Signatures

I mentioned before that I’ve been browsing sites for signature tutorials to explore new styles and thus improve my signature making skills. I’ve found several tutorials from various sites, the most dominant one being Delta-Visions.com. Browsing through all this tutorials made me realize just how much a novice I still am, and I thought I’ve improved a lot from before too. Well, without further ado, here are the signatures that I made with some of the tutorials.

Tutorial: Here

I’m not quite satisfied with the outcome. I guess it might have been because of the colour choice that Riku somehow doesn’t fit in. Also, the top-right corner of the signature is empty. But overall, I think it’s still not too bad. I might have a go at this style again. Oh, and the border is white so it doesn’t really show. The border is different than how I usually do it so try highlighting the sig if you want to see it. Might make a difference in the overall outcome.

Tutorial: Here

The result is horrible, everything seems out of place. I suspect it has a lot to do with the stock image. I should’ve tried to do it with an image that has a lot going on or something that is similar to the one used in the tutorial. I may or may not try making a signature this way again.

Tutorial: Direct / Forum

I like style and the outcome looks quite good too even though I screwed up here and there while making the sig. The result could’ve been better if I had smudged the render better. I will most likely use this style in the future, maybe implement it together with my own style (which is…what..?..abstract…?).

Well, thats it for now. I’m still searching for tutorials and making signatures. Browsing at the Delta-Visions Forum really inspired me to improve my skills but as to whether I do improve them is another matter because school work and revision will take quite a lot of my time.

Speaking of revision, I’m trying my best to catch up to the schedule that I planned some time ago but it seems that I still have trouble focusing on the revision so it’s still progressing ever so slowly. But hey, at least I started. XD

Will most likely post some more sigs tomorrow. =)

New Signature: Tsuna

Well, as mentioned in my last post, the signature is done. It features Tsuna, the main character from Katekyo Hitman Reborn. I got the picture from minitokyo.

I think it’s rather plain but still presentable, I guess. It turned out quite differently than how I pictured it to be, the way I envisioned it was more…..not plain….

I’m currently browsing signature tutorials because I’m trying to find new styles to make signatures. Hopefully, the next one I make will be of a different style.
